NDLON (National Day Laborer Organizing Network) Adopt a Corner
The NDLON “adopt a corner” in West Covina is positioned in a low-foot-traffic area toward the far end of the store parking lot, making it difficult to engage with people and conduct more optimized outreach.
After volunteering at the West Covina corner for a few months, I noticed there were no signs that could be used every week aside from a few cardboard posters that had slowly deteriorated over time.
I designed and created an eye-catching hand painted, wooden sign that became a staple of the corner. This sign is much more likely to survive the harsh elements like rain and intense sun.
After seeing the impact this sign had on my corner, I decided to design a digital sign to print and hand out to more NDLON adopt a corners and other businesses.
Increased outreach opportunity by over 100 people a day. Increased foot-traffic to information booth by 5 times.
